Representative Mike Rogers (R-MI) told Michigan radio station WHMI that if Pfc. Bradley Manning is indeed convicted of leaking the Afghanistan documents to WikiLeaks, then he should be executed. As reported by David Gura at NPR: “If they won’t charge him with treason, they ought to charge him with murder,” he said.
Asked if treason was a capital offense, Rogers answered, “Yes, and I would support it 100 precent.”
Why murder? “We know for a fact that people will likely be killed because of this information being disclosed,” he said. “That’s pretty serious.”
